Tusks announces forthcoming EP, Gold For Synths And Strings
London-based electronic songwriter and producer Tusks has announced the forthcoming EP, Gold For Synth And Strings.
“As I came towards the end of making Gold, I started to imagine the tracks being scored out on strings and wanted to explore this idea of creating these other lighter, more dreamlike versions of them," Tusks, aka Emily Underhill, explains.
"I work at a company that makes orchestral sample libraries and had spent most of the year editing cello recordings and throughout the year this idea had grown stronger and stronger, so I scored out four of the tracks into a string arrangement and brought the wonderful Haydn Wynn into the studio to record them on cello. I really loved the process of this EP. It's the first one since my debut EP ‘Ink’ where I've also engineered and mixed the tracks and it's a part of the process that I enjoy so much”.
