Transgressive announce additional 20th anniversary show with MICHELLE, Miso Extra and Nadia Kadek
Transgressive have announced the latest show to form part of their 20th anniversary celebrations.
New York six-piece collective MICHELLE will headline The Lexington on Wednesday 9 October, with support from Miso Extra and Nadia Kadek.
It’s the second anniversary event being held at the legendary London club venue, following an intimate return from Black Country, New Road three weeks ago. The Lexington was infamously home to Transgressive, who had their office above the venue in its first four years of opening. The venue is commemorating its own special anniversary this year, celebrating 15 years existing as one of the country's leading independent music venues.
Transgressive kickstarted its 20th Anniversary summer of events at Glastonbury Festival in June, with appearances from Moonchild Sanelly, Miso Extra plus surprise sets from Jamz Supernova and Joe Goddard from Hot Chip. The record label, publisher and management company proceeded to host parties at festivals throughout the summer, including sets from The WAEVE (Graham Coxon & Rose Elinor Dougall), Mystery Jets, Kinshasa’s KOKOKO!, HotWax and Let’s Eat Grandma at Latitude and Green Man.
Other special shows have included a rare performance at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from Arlo Parks and Marika Hackman, plus The Moonlandingz’ riotous first show in seven years at Highbury Garage, the biggest headline show yet from Johnny Flynn & The River Band at Hammersmith Apollo, and a multi-artist event in New York, which took place this week and featured The Antlers, Mykki Blanco, MICHELLE, Mutual Benefit and Odetta Hartman.
Still to come are shows from Mystery Jets at Hackney EartH tomorrow night, and KOKOKO! at Village Underground on 1 October.
Tickets for the MICHELLE headline show are available now.
