Tori Amos covers two Sinead O’Connor songs in San Francisco
During her show in San Francisco earlier this week, Tori Amos paid tribute to Sinead O'Connor by covering two of her songs, “I Am Stretched on Your Grave” and “Three Babies".
On Wednesday (26 July), it had been announced that the iconic Irish singer Sinead O'Connor had passed away, aged 56. Tributes have been pouring in all over the world from celebrities to fans, and Tori Amos has paid tribute by performing two of her songs during a recent concert in San Francisco.
"I Am Stretched on Your Grave" and "Three Babies" were originally featured on O’Connor’s 1990 breakout album I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got.
“This is a person who’s powerful, who wrote incredible music, and we honor her tonight,” Amos said ahead of performing her own song “Crucify", whilst praising O’Connor for her speaking out against abuse in the Catholic church.
Tori Amos is currently wrapping up a worldwide tour in support of Ocean to Ocean – her first album in four years, which was released back in 2021. Along the way, she stopped at London's Royal Albert Hall, where we caught all the action.
Last year, Tori Amos commemorated the 30th anniversary of her debut album, Little Earthquakes, with a graphic novel containing stories inspired by the record, written by authors such as Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, and more.
Little Earthquakes, the graphic novel, is out now.
