Timbaland reveals details of new Justin Timberlake album
In an interview with Variety, Timabaland discusses the forthcoming Justin Timberlake album.
Timabaland said that the album is now finished, "and everything sounds great", so it's now up to Timberlake to decide when he's ready to release it.
He revealed that they wanted to channel the vibe of Timberlake’s 2006 album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, which contains hits such as “SexyBack,” “My Love,” and “What Goes Around… Comes Around"; and to make it sound and feel like "part two".
“It’s fun Justin — it’s like FutureSex/LoveSounds but nothing too heavy, just giving you what you expect from us,” he added. “Music is a young sport — of course, we’ve both seen a lot of life, but you have to bring out the 13-year-old kid again, you know?”
As well as his accolades as a producer, Timbaland started Verzuz the rap/R&B battle series he launched with fellow hitmaker Swizz Beatz. As well as Beatclub – a platform for producers and songwriters to sell beats and demos.
Justin Timberlake has just launched the Nicole Hurst scholarship which will be supporting young creatives to attend 1500 Sound Academy.
Timberlake’s last album was 2018’s Man of the Woods, which featured collabs with Timbaland, The Neptunes, Alicia Keys, and Chris Stapleton. He recently featured on the Calvin Harris track "Stay With Me" alongside Halsey and Pharrell.
