Tim Burgess of The Charlatans joins Johnny Marr for duet of Electronic's "Getting Away With It"
During his set at Piece Hall in Halifax, Johnny Marr treated fans to a performance of Electronic's "Getting Away With It".
“Getting Away With It” was originally released in 1989, as the debut single of Electronic –– who consisted of Bernard Sumner of New Order, Johnny Marr, and guesting vocalist Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys.
As he introduced Tim Burgess to the stage, Marr said: “We’re going to play a disco song from Manchester, from the Haçienda. What’s even better, we’re going to be joined by my friend — he’s a national treasure — Mr. Tim Burgess from The Charlatans.”
Love and thanks to the great @Tim_Burgess for joining us at @ThePieceHall tonight. pic.twitter.com/FSFmT6SD0x
