Tigercub reveal their latest single “Swoon”
After joining Pearl Jam for their colossal two-night stand at BST Hyde Park last year, Tigercub have signed to Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gosssard's Loosegroove Records.
"Swoon” comes from Tigercub's highly anticipated forthcoming third studio album The Perfume Of Decay.
Speaking of the single, frontman Jamie Hall says: "When I first moved away from Sunderland to live in Brighton, I thought I would never look back. However, as the years have passed, I’ve grown more and more homesick and have realised my deep yearning to reconnect with my roots in the north of England. “Swoon" is about uncovering those feelings and addressing them. The track is brooding, dynamic and explosive, a taster of things to come from The Perfume of Decay.”
The Perfume of Decay was recorded after an international tour that took Tigercub halfway around the world in promotion of their last album As Blue Indigo.
Of the album, Hall says: The Perfume of Decay is set at night. It was written at night, I recorded all the vocals at night, and it is at night when my thoughts race and uneasiness pours through me like running water. Under the glimmer of moonlight, my apprehension ebbs and flows like the tide and it doesn't stop until the morning. Perfume is a diary of my emotional journey from dusk to dawn, an anxiety-fuelled voyage through the storm. Lyrically, at points, it is almost a stream of consciousness. I sat up late and wrote the words down as they flashed before my eyes."
"Swoon" is out now. The Perfume of Decay arrives on 2 June via Loosegroove Records.
