The Weeknd to star in new film with Jenna Ortega that's scored by Oneohtrix Point Never
It's been revealed that The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, will star in Trey Edward Shults' new film alongside Jenna Ortega, and it'll be scored by Oneohtrix Point Never.
The Weeknd is reuniting with frequent collaborator Oneohtrix Point Never, real name Daniel Lopatin, for a new film directed by Trey Edwards Shults. The film is currently untitled, and Deadline reports that Tesfaye co-wrote the film, which will be scored by Oneohtrix Point Never, with Shults and Reza Fahim.
Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan will also star in the film.
The upcoming film will mark The Weeknd's first feature film lead role. He previously had a smaller part in Uncut Gems, which was also scored by Oneohtrix Point Never, and he'll also star in The Idol, an upcoming HBO series that he co-created with Euphoria's Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim.
Earlier this week The Weeknd became the first artist in Spotify history to pass 100 million monthly listeners.
