The Walkmen announce first live shows since 2013
The Walkmen have confirmed that they're reuniting for their first live shows since 2013 in April 2023.
Earlier this month The Walkmen updated their socials with a video of them performing "The Rat" live. The band didn't include a caption for the post, but fans were speculating in the comments, with many thinking it hinted at a reunion.
It turns out the fans were right, as The Walkmen confirmed that they're reuniting for two shows at New York's Webster Hall, which will take place on 26 and 27 April 2023. It'll mark the band's first shows together since December 2013.
The Walkmen's Hamilton Leithauser wrote on Instagram, "Hi, back in 2013 an unnamed Walkmen band member (Peter Bauer) announced to the Washington Post that we were going on an “extreme hiatus”. I assumed that meant there would be a lot of monster energy drinks and maybe that red-headed snowboarder guy would be hanging around a lot…but none of that actually happened. Instead, in the ensuing years we’ve all worked on a ton of different projects in a ton of different places. Recently someone sent us a clip of us playing at Irving Plaza from 2003, and it just looked very exciting. So we’ve decided we’d like to play together again."
"Right now, we are very thrilled to announce that we will be playing at Webster Hall on April 26 & 27. Head over to the link in bio now to sign up for the presale happening tomorrow, November 16th at 10 AM ET. General On Sale will be this Friday, November 18th at 11 AM LOCAL time. See you soon."
Visit thewalkmen.com for more information and to sign up for the presale happening at 10am ET / 3pm GMT today (16 November).
