The WAEVE debut new track "Druantia" live in session for The Line of Best Fit
The WAEVE, aka Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall, perform a brand new City Lights track "Druantia" live in session exclusively for Best Fit in collaboration with Crouch End Studios.
""Druantia" is almost an album itself, it's kind of its own universe in a way. Druantia is a nature goddess, so the song is about life and the sort of blood and guts of what that looks like," The WAEVE tell Best Fit of the track. "Giving yourself over to that energy but also a lot of the ideas of portals into the supernatural, and this is where the doors will open, and the earth unfolds. It’s an interesting idea that in parts of the countryside at certain times there are portals into this world, and I like the idea of messing around with that and the intensity of the song. So, although it may seem almost quite proggy and a little bit jazzy, it's not quite as geekish; it's a lot sexier. There's an illusion or a feeling that anything that feels a bit more pastoral and referencing those things, doesn’t have a tumultuous or kinetic energy to it but it's this sort of dance between the darker city vibes and the country aesthetic."
The WAEVE's second album City Lights will arrive on 20 September via Transgressive, and is available to pre-order now.
