The Orchestra (For Now) announced as the winners of Green Man Rising 2024
London-based act The Orchestra (For Now) have been named as this year’s Green Man Rising competition winners, opening the 2024 festival.
The Orchestra (For Now), who was joined in the final by TTSSFU, ladylike, Nature Kids and Mari Mathias in the final, will open the main stage at this year’s Green Man Festival, the largest music, science and arts festival in Wales’ Bannau Brycheiniog. The runners up all will play the Rising Stage across the weekend and will be given the opportunity to make a professionally recorded Green Man Session.
They will be joining previous announced artists such as Big Thief, Sampha, Jon Hopkins, Sleaford Mods, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Ezra Collective, Arlo Parks, Blonde Redhead, Julia Holter and more.
The Orchestra (For Now) said: “What a ridiculous moment winning Green Man Rising was! All the 25 shortlisted were top drawer, let alone the amazing shortlist so it’s very surreal for us to win Green Man Rising - we only formed a year ago and don’t have any music out yet! We’re feeling ecstatic and love Green Man and want to say a huge thanks to Green Man Trust for making this all happen. We’ll see you in the valleys! Diolch!”
Green Man Festival runs from 15-20 August, and tickets are now sold out.
