Tove Styrke plays a sold out, one off UK show at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen
Swedish sensation Tove Styrke brought her catchy electro pop to the UK show for a one off show on 22nd April to a rapturous response as part of her current tour.
Playing to a completely sold out crowd at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, Styrke was backed by a stealthy guitarist and powerful drummer, bringing a frenetic pop energy that transformed the Wednesday night slot into a heaving mass of dancing party-lovers.
Taking to the stage with a characteristic swagger and donning a black leather sports cap, the set soared through old favourites and big hits such as “Borderline” and “Even If I’m Loud It Doesn’t Mean I’m Talking To You”, on which every word was shouted back at the stage in perfect unison and greeted with a formidable amount of screaming.
Styrke also revealed some new songs from her upcoming album, due out this June, before drawing the set to a close with an explosive rendition of “Ego”. Next up, she’s set to tour the ‘States before playing a range of European festivals later this summer.
