MONEY headline Village Underground with transcendent ballads in the wake of their new album
MONEY played to a packed-out crowd at London's Village Underground on Monday, a month after the release of their acclaimed second album.
The Manchester / South London band - fronted by the poetic Jamie Lee - played a set weighted in favour of their beautiful new record, Suicide Songs.
The show came as the band continues its tour of the UK and Europe, and saw an hour of Lee and his troupe inviting fans into an emotional embrace of despair and hope.
Supported by a small string section, Lee and the band performed songs from the latest record including the mournful single "You Look Like A Sad Painting On Both Sides Of The Sky" and the sublime "Night Came".
MONEY also played some tracks from their debut The Shadow Of Heaven including (after a brief drumming mishap) their celestial dream-pop stunner, "Bluebell Fields". And, like the ending of their new record, they closed the set on The Pogues-esque "A Cocaine Christmas and an Alcoholic's New Year".
