King Princess teases new material from her debut album at a sold-out show, Live in London
King Princess (real name Mikaela Straus) returned to London last night for her second show in the UK, proving that she has carved out her space in the pop-rock scene.
Filled with proud queer individuals, the crowd - who absolutely adored her - showed their love with constant screams and applause throughout the set.
Opening with new singles “Useless Phrases” and “Cheap Queen”, King Princess began to work her way through her Make My Bed EP starting with “Upper West Side.”
Proclaiming “this song is on my record” she went on to play an array of new songs, claiming that her debut album is full of “tea, sadness and pleasure.” Continuing to smash through some unreleased material from her upcoming deubut album, we heard some new songs titled “Prophet”, “Tough on Myself”, and “Maybe It Will Change”.
Her self-assured stage presence throughout these unheard songs made the room vibrate with sexual energy, ensuring she never failed to captivate everyone in the crowd. Someone even threw their underwear which goes to prove what an electric, sexual force she has.
It was of course “P*ssy Is God”, “1950”, and “Talia” which were the best moments of the night. Making everyone embrace her uncensored and sometimes emotionally charged lyrics to scream along as loud as possible and dance with a powerfully proud energy. Tonight, live in London, King Princess succeeded in leaving the crowd desperate for her debut album.
King Princess is set to play a string of festival dates across the UK and Europe with a show on Friday at Glastobury.
