Dan Croll treats The Sebright Arms to his unique pop offerings
Fresh from a packed Community Centre at Oxford’s Gathering Festival at the weekend, Dan Croll brought his brilliant blend of folk and indie-pop to the Sebright Arms last night.
The Liverpudlian’s set certainly is a blend, and therein lies the interest; the blissful “ooh-aah” harmony of ‘Norwegian Wood’ is immediately and effortlessly juxtaposed by the electronic sounds (and tambourine shaking) of ‘From Nowhere’, his belter of a debut single. The new, ‘Wanna Know’ infers that this pop sound is the direction Croll is heading, but the set is nonetheless wrapped up by the rip-roaring folk-foot-stomper ‘Home’.
Dan Croll is back in London mid-November and it will be well-worth getting along to.
