The Lemonheads unveil their Vaselines cover, "Seven Out"
The second new offering from The Lemonheads in recent months, "Seven Out" is a cover of Eugene Kelly's track.
“Mac from Superchunk made me a tape of The Vaselines and The Louvin Brothers when we stayed with him on our first real tour in 1987. Eugene’s band Captain America played their first show with us in Glasgow (with Brendan from Teenage Fanclub on drums) in 1990," says Evan Dando. "We did a lot of touring with Eugenius in the early 90’s (no longer Captain America after Marvel Comics threatened to sue). I’ve always LOVED this song since it came out on a Eugene solo single. I’ve finally covered it!"
Recorded and produced by Apollo Nove at A9 Audio in São Paulo, Brazil, the single sees Evan Dando joined by Jeff Berg on bass and Erin Rae on backing vocals. Following the release of "Fear Of Living" back in November, both tracks will appear on a special limited edition seven-inch vinyl that will be exclusively available at the upcoming live shows.
Evan Dando is also currently working on the first Lemonheads songs since 2006.
