The Jacques share new song "Via Dolorosa" ahead of new album
London / Bristol trio The Jacques have announced their second album Make Repetition for a June release, with new Parquet Courts/Pixes influenced song "Via Dolorosa".
Lyrically the track addresses eternal disappointment in a relationship with vocalist/guitarist Finn O’Brien explaining, "the title is the name of the road in Jerusalem that Jesus is supposed to have walked down with his cross on his back and a crown of thorns on his head. It's a remarkably happy song considering all that. It's surrealist, lyrically, and it's a lot of fun.”
Make Repetition promises echoes of Blur, Pavement, Elvis Costello and The Jam. The band's recent debut New York show at The Mercury Lounge saw Marky Ramone and Bad Brains co-founder Darryl Jenifer in attendance.
Make Repetition is released on 27 June via Sore Records
