The internet reacts to Camila Cabello joining Lana Del Rey at Coachella
During her headline performance at the second weekend of Coachella 2024, Lana Del Rey was joined by special guest Camila Cabello.
Coachella is known for surprise appearances, secret performances, and unexpected collaborations. During the first weekend, Sky Ferreira opened up Kevin Abstract's set with a performance of Lady A's "Need You Now", whilst Olivia Rodrigo performed "Bath Water" with No Doubt, and during a surprise DJ set, Billie Eilish debuted songs from her forthcoming album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.
In an unexpected turn of events, Lana Del Rey was joined by Camila Cabello performing her new single, "I Luv It" during Lana Del Rey's headline set.

One user commented on the surprise collaboration writing: "Lana bringing out Camila to perform hyperpop for a bunch of people who want to cry is HIGH camp you either get it or you don’t", whilst another person said: "imagine being on drugs at coachella vibing out to lana del rey and then she brings out fucking camila cabello- that would actually send me into psychosis".
There were rumours circulating that Taylor Swift would be joining Del Rey, due to her pop-up store containing copies of Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which also delivered a slew of memes surrounding the appearance of Cabello. Admitting their disappointment, on user wrote: "this is lana del rey’s guest at coachella. we thought it was taylor swift… we got something more sinister".

Following her performance with Del Rey, Cabello took to her socials to share how she has been inspired by Del Rey who has paved the way for artists like her, writing: "billie said it best, she’s the reason for all you bitches existence including me !!!! she’s inspired so many artists visually lyrically musically and moved the art form forward but I think you all should know that sometimes it’s good to meet your heroes because she is also disarmingly sweet and generous and loving."
Lana Del Rey will be releasing her country-inspired album, Lasso, later this year.
