Fugees reunite during Ms. Lauryn Hill's performance at The Roots Picnic
The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia featured a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill who was celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.
Lauryn Hill brought out Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel for a six-song set at The Roots Picnic, following her headline performance which celebrated the 25th anniversary of her only solo album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill. After performing her hits such as "Doo Wop (That Thing)", and "Everything Is Everything", she brought on her Fugees bandmates.
The surprise reunion marked the first time that the trio had played together since an NYC gig in September 2023. They were supposed to embark on a reunion tour for their 25th anniversary, but it was ultimately cancelled due to the pandemic.
They performed classic hits such as "Ready or Not", "Killing Me Softly", "Zealot", and "Fu-Gee-La", in what could be their final show together. Pras Michel is currently facing 20 years in prison after being found guilty in a political conspiracy case which spanned both the Obama and Trump administrations. No sentencing date has been set yet.
In 2019, Ms. Lauryn Hill has shared the single, "Guarding The Gates", taken from the soundtrack for the film Queen & Slim.
