The Exorcist remake changes its release date to avoid competing with Taylor Swift
Yesterday, Taylor Swift announced the release of the forthcoming concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, which happens to coincide with the release of The Exorcist: Believer.
Rather than recreate a 'Barbenheimer' showdown, the producer has announced that the movie will debut a week earlier than planned. “Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23,” Blumhouse founder Jason Blum announced on social media.
Believer is the first of a planned trilogy, which serves as a direct sequel to William Friedkin's 1973 classic The Exorcist, with Ellen Burstyn returning as Chris MacNeil. The film is directed by Halloween's David Gordon Green, and follows two school friends "who find themselves possessed after disappearing for several days, before starting to display several horrifying symptoms that see them staring dead-eyed in the mirror and storming into church services."
Look what you made me do.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift posted on her social media, to announce the film alongside its trailer, adding, "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged… 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk).”
The film is being directed by Sam Wrench, whose previous work includes; Brandi Carlile's In the Canyon Haze Live, Billie Eilish Live at the O2, Lizzo: Live in Concert, and BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage.
