The Embassy announce their first studio album in five years, E-Numbers
Gothenburg balearic-pop act, Fredrik Lindson & Torbjörn Håkansson – AKA The Embassy – announce their forthcoming album, E-Numbers alongside lead-track "Amnesia".
The Swedish pioneers released their debut album, Futile Crimes, in 2002, which led to the birth of bands such as Studio, The Tough Alliance and Air France following. This was quickly followed up by 2005's Tacking. Instead of exploiting the momentum, The Embassy kept cool for eight years, releasing Sweet Sensation in 2013.
Their forthcoming studio album, E-Numbers is set to follow on from the 2018 release,White Lake. It explores an almost self-celebratory nihilistic position, possibly with irony. ”I don’t want the world to change. I just want to be against. Three cheers for us” The tone is darker than before, both musically and lyrically. But the force and the beauty of the composition points further, to an overcoming of nihilism by affirmation of creative power.
