The Dinner Party change name to avoid confusion with Terrace Martin and Kamasi Washington's Dinner Party project
The Dinner Party, now known as The Last Dinner Party, have updated their name in the hope of avoiding confusion with Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper and 9th Wonder's Dinner Party project.
Earlier today on socials, The Dinner Party shared a post announcing their name change to The Last Dinner Party, as it turns out there's been some confusion between the group and Dinner Party, the collaborative project of Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper and 9th Wonder.
The Last Dinnner Party wrote: "Gentle readers, we come before you today to announce the changing of our name to THE LAST DINNER PARTY.
"This has come about in order to avoid any future confusion with our new friend Kamasi Washington’s project called Dinner Party across the pond. So please hold the gushing letters and phone calls of congratulations for landing a Coachella spot because it‘s not us…not yet…
"Expect more news from us very soon.
With our everlasting love,
The Last Dinner Party."
The Last Dinner Party will play The Great Escape 2023, which takes place in Brighton from 10-13 May.
