The Dillinger Escape Plan announce reunion show with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis
Following their hiatus in 2017, The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced that they will be reuniting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Calculating Infinity.
The New Jersey natives formed the band in 1997, and two decades later, after announcing their breakup in 2016 alongside their sixth studio album Dissociation, they played their final shows at New York's Terminal 5 towards the end of 2017.
Co-formed by vocalist Dimitri Minakakis and guitarist Ben Weinman, the band released the 1998 EP Under The Running Board and the 1999 full-length album Calculating Infinity, before Minakakis left the band in 2001, with Greg Puciato taking over as lead vocalist. They released five albums together, before their hiatus.
It has now been announced that The Dillinger Escape Plan will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Calculating Infinity by performing the album in full for the first time ever, with Dimitri Minakakis back on vocals.
The show is set to take place on 21 June at New York’s Brooklyn Paramount. Minakakis will be joined by Weinman, bassist Liam Wilson, and drummer Billy Rymer.
In a statement from a press release, Minakakis said: "It’s been a long time coming for this opportunity to perform in a project I helped create over 25 years ago. Having the chance to celebrate 25 years of Calculating Infinity with my closest friends in life is just a dream turned real. I’m looking forward to seeing all the old faces, as well as all the new ones. The Dillinger Escape Plan has always been more than just a band. We were a force of nature. This reunion show is our way of thanking the fans who have stood by us and the album we made in a small basement in NJ all those years ago."
