The Big Moon announce alternative location for merch due to London venue taking percentage of sales
The Big Moon have announced that they'll be selling merch at a different location ahead of their show at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town tonight (28 September) due to the venue taking a percentage of merch sales.
Tonight (28 September) The Big Moon will play London's O2 Forum Kentish Town, but this afternoon the band announced on socials that fans will need to head to the Abbey Tavern if they want to buy some merch, as the London venue takes a percentage of sales.
The Big Moon wrote, "The Kentish Town Forum, like many other O2 venues, take 25% plus VAT on every sale we make - this is basically all of our profit on merch. This leaves us with the choice of either not making any profit, or increasing prices and charging you guys more - neither feels fair."
"Merch is one of the few ways we keep ourselves afloat at this level when touring profits are still minimal," The Big Moon added. "So please come down to the Abbey tavern for a pre-show bev and a peruse of our merch from 6, or head down there after the show!! Thank you so much for your support."
IMPORTANT INFORMATION tonight we are selling merch at the Abbey Tavern between 6pm-11.15pm at 124 Kentish Town Road. We will not be selling any merch at the venue. pic.twitter.com/Y3xadsgTtT
