Guests at The Fife Arms in Braemar were treated to an impromptu Hogmanay cover of ABBA's "Waterloo" by Sharleen Spiteri of Texas and Dame Judi Dench.
A video of the cover appeared on Twitter, and showed Spiteri singing "Waterloo" while Dame Judi Dench pretends to play a pianola and sings backing vocals. Towards the end of the clip, Spiteri says of Dench, "What a pianist!"
BBC reports that Ewan Venters, CEO of Artfarm, which owns The Fife Arms, said, "Judi Dench and Sharleen Spiteri were staying at the hotel and we had an impromptu moment at the piano. It was a happy evening with lots of guests and locals clapping."
In 2021 Texas returned with their tenth album Hi.
