Taylor Swift stands against anti-LGBTQ legislation: "This is a celebratory space for you"
During the first of three shows in Chicago on Friday (2 June) for the start of Pride Month, Swift addresses the LGBTQ+ community.
“I’m looking out tonight, I’m seeing so many incredible individuals who are living authentically and beautifully and this is a safe space for you. This is a celebratory space for you," she told fans before adding that she feels full of pride when she looks out into the crowd, "watching you interact with each other, and being so loving, and so thoughtful, and so caring."
She went on to quote lyrics from Lover's track, "You Need to Calm Down", and said: "You guys are screaming those lyrics in such solidarity, in such support of one another, in such encouraging, beautiful, acceptance and peace and safety, and I wish that every place was safe and beautiful for people in the LGBTQ community.”

"We can't talk about Pride Month without talking about pain," she began, before going on to discuss the "harmful" legislations that have been put into place in America recently.
“We can support as much as we want during Pride Month, but if we’re not doing our research on these elected officials – are they advocates? Are they allies? Are they protectors of equality? Do I want to vote for them?”
On the second night of her Chicago residency, Swift debuted "You All Over Me", and brought Maren Morris on stage. "When I was re-recording Fearless, I thought it would be really cool to have one of my favourite artists sing on one of the songs ‘From the Vault'. We are so lucky Chicago … because not only did that artist say yes, but Maren Morris is actually here tonight.”
Morris later took to her own socials to describe her joy at being able to give the song its live debut: "We finally got to play "You All Over Me" and I won’t ever be shutting up about it", she said.
