Taylor Swift says she thinks Lana Del Rey is "one of the best musical artists ever"
Taylor Swift has spoken about her Midnights track "Snow On The Beach" which features Lana Del Rey, saying she thinks Del Rey is "one of the best musical artists ever".
In a new Instagram video, Swift discussed the fourth track on her Midnights album, "Snow On The Beach", which will feature Lana Del Rey.
"The song is about falling in love with someone at the same time as they’re falling in love with you, sort of in this sort of cataclysmic, fated moment where you realise someone feels exactly the same way that you feel," Swift explained. And you're kind of looking around going 'Wait, is this real? Is this a dream?’ … Kind of like how it would be if you were to see snow falling on a beach."
Swift then spoke about the song collaborator Lana Del Rey, saying, "Lana Del Rey, in my opinion, is one of the best musical artists ever. The fact that I get to exist at the same time as her is an honour and a privilege, and the fact that she would be so generous as to collaborate with us on this song is something I’m gonna be grateful for for life. Absolutely love her."
Last week Swift spoke about the album opener "Lavender Haze", revealing that the title was inspired by a phrase she saw on Mad Men, and that it's about how she and Joe Alwyn ignore "weird rumours, tabloid stuff" to protect "the real stuff" in their relationship.
Midnights will follow Swift's 2020 album Evermore, although she did release Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) last year.
Taylor Swift's Midnights album will arrive on 21 October, and is available to pre-order now.
