Taylor Swift nabs Michael Jackson's record for highest-grossing concert film of all time
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has surpassed Michael Jackson’s This Is It, and now officially becomes the highest-grossing concert film of all time.
In October 2023, Taylor Swift released Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which was recorded over the first three of six nights that Swift played at the SoFi stadium in California in August. In its first day of pre-sales, during the initial announcement, the concert film amassed a record $37m. Its opening weekend was the highest grossing for a concert film ever, bringing in $126m globally.
As reported by Variety, the film's box office revenue now stands at $261.6m which just surpasses Michael Jackson's 2009 film, which grossed at $261.2 million.

Taylor Swift recently matched Elvis Presley's record for most weeks spent at the top of the Billboard 200 charts as a solo artist. The Beatles are the overall record holders for the artists with the most weeks spent on the album chart, at 132 weeks.
At the end of last year, Forbes listed Taylor Swift as the most powerful woman in Media and Entertainment for 2023.
