Taylor Swift details "surreal and bewildering" experience of working with Kendrick Lamar on 1989 (Taylor's Version)
Taylor Swift has unveiled 1989 (Taylor's Version) as the fourth album in her series of re-recordings, following on from Fearless, Red, and Speak Now.
A few hours the album's release, Swift took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the immediate release of the deluxe edition and also express her gratitude to Kendrick Lamar for updating his verse on the track "Bad Blood", which featured on the original 2014 recording of 1989.
Swift wrote that it was "one of the most inspiring experiences of [her] life" to watch Lamar create his verses on the track. "I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude, for the ways Kendrick elevated the song and the way he treats everyone around him. Every time the crowds on The Eras Tour would chant his line ‘you forgive, you forget, but you never let it… go!’, I smiled," she added.
"The reality that Kendrick would go back in and re-record Bad Blood so that I could reclaim and own this work I’m so proud of is surreal and bewildering to me."
