Taylor Swift announces 10th album Midnights
Taylor Swift has announced her upcoming 10th album Midnights, which will arrive in October.
At last night's (28 August) MTV VMAs, Taylor Swift picked up three awards for All Too Well: The Short Film, including Video of the Year, Best Longform Video and Best Direction, and during her acceptance speech, Swift announced that her 10th album would be arriving on 21 October, and told fans that she would reveal more details at midnight.
Sure enough, at midnight EST (5am BST), Swift revealed that her Evermore follow-up is titled Midnights, and also revealed that it's made up of "stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life."
Swift also shared a statement about the record, writing, "This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes 12 … we’ll meet ourselves."
Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.
