
Tate McRae wins Artist of the Year at Juno Awards 2024
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and CBC celebrated the 53rd Annual JUNO Awards last night in Halifax.
Hosted by legendary singer/songwriter, Nelly Furtado, the awards were broadcast from Scotiabank Centre in Halifax. Tate McRae, who recently released her second album, Think Later, took home the award for Single of the Year for her viral hit, "greedy", and also won big as Artist of the Year.
Nova Scotian artist Anne Murray took to the stage to present the Group of the Year Presented by SiriusXM Canada to The Beaches. They also won Rock Album of the Year the previous night for their 2023 album, Blame My Ex. Elsewhere in the evening, Charlotte Cardin took home Pop Album of the Year and Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada. Award-winner actor and Halifax native Elliot Page presented the prestigious 2024 Humanitarian Award to Tegan and Sara, and hip-hop pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame by Canadian Hip-Hop ambassador Kardinal Offishall.
