Talking Heads have turned down $80 Million fee for reunion tour
Turns out Memories CAN Wait... Talking Heads appear to have turned down a huge sum of money to do a reunion tour.
As reported by Billboard Talking Heads – AKA David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison – have turned down an $80 million offer from Live Nation to embark on a reunion tour, headlining festivals as well as their own shows.
Last year, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their iconic concert film, Stop Making Sense, Byrne, Weymouth, Frantz, and Harrison appeared together publicly for the first time since their 2002 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. Reflecting on their split, Byrne said: “As a younger person, I was not as pleasant to be around. When I was working on some Talking Heads shows, I was more of a little tyrant".
“I have regrets on how that was handled. I don’t think I did it in the best way, but I think it was kind of inevitable that would happen anyway,” he continues. “We have a cordial relationship now. We’re sort of in touch, but we don’t hang out together.”

Alongside a reissue of the concert film, A24 reissued the accompanying album, featuring two previously unreleased songs from the film – "Cities" and "Big Business / I Zimbra".
Now, they've announced a forthcoming tribute album, Everyone’s Getting Involved which sees the likes of Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, The National, girl in red, BADBADNOTGOOD, The Linda Lindas, Blondshell, The Cavemen, Jean Dawson, Kevin Abstract, Toro y Moi, and more coming together to reimagine sounds from the iconic soundtrack. The first song to be released from the forthcoming tribute album was Paramore's take on "Burning Down The House".
Paramore's cover of "Burning Down The House" is out now. Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense will follow later this year.
