SZA's new album is titled S.O.S and will be released in December
SZA has confirmed that her forthcoming album is titled S.O.S, and will be released in December.
Over the past month fans have been speculating that SZA's Ctrl follow-up is titled S.O.S and will be released in December after spotting "DEC" on a car number plate in the "Shirt" video last month, as well as "SOS" in morse code at the end of her recent "PSA" teaser, and today (16 November) a new feature for Billboard confirms S.O.S as the new album title, as well as the December release.
In the piece, SZA discussed some thoughts about the longevity of being in the music industry, saying, "I feel like music, in this capacity, I don’t see longevity. I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best."
SZA also spoke about the stressful process of releasing music, "I hate the red tape analytics of dropping anything - it’s so stressful. I definitely have heard [the term ‘digital service provider’] more this week and last week than I have ever. I don’t like the way it sounds - it sounds stressful and like something that requires a lot of attention and maneuvering. I hate the word ‘single.’ It’s like, ‘What the fuck separates a single from other shit on my album that I like? Why does it have to be different?'"
SZA's S.O.S. album is due out in December, but she's yet to share a specific release date.
