Susanne Sundfør announces sixth album with lead tracks "alyosha" and "leikara Ijóð"
Susanne Sundfør has shared news of her sixth album blómi, and has released two tracks "alyosha" and "leikara Ijóð" as first tasters.
"alyosha" and "leikara Ijóð" are Sundfør's first new tracks of 2023, following her appearance on Röyksopp's "Stay Awhile" in November last year, and are the lead outings from her forthcoming sixth album.
Sundfør's sixth album blómi is a love letter to her daughter, and means "to bloom" in Norse. It'll follow 2017's Music for People in Trouble.
"I want this album to be an antidote to the darkness that dominates our culture today," Sundfør says. "I want to show that there’s another way to see reality, if one dares to take the leap of hoping for a more beautiful world."
