Sudan Archives teams up with ODESZA on "Selfish Soul"
Ahead of her performance yesterday (16 April) at Coachella, where she performed her latest LP Natural Brown Prom Queen with a full live band for the first time, Sudan Archives made an appearance at ODESZA's surprise DJ set.
The pair then debuted their remix of "Selfish Soul". Today, they officially share the release.
Of the song, ODESZA – the GRAMMY-nominated duo of Harrison Mills & Clayton Knight – say: "Sudan Archives was one of our favourite artists we discovered over the past year. This song in particular was incredibly inspiring to us and we’re grateful to be a part of it", with Sudan Archives adding that ODESZA remixed the song "in a way I could never have imagined!”
"Selfish Soul" is the first remix to be released from Sudan Archives' breakthrough 2022 album Natural Brown Prom Queen, and is the first remix from ODESZA in eight years.
Sudan Archives opens for Caroline Polachek in the US this month before taking Natural Brown Prom Queen around the world, performing at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, Lollapalooza, Roskilde, FUJI ROCK.
"Selfish Soul" is out now via Ninja Tune / Foreign Family Collective in partnership with Stones Throw.
