Stormzy, Let's Eat Grandma and Oliver Sim make Elton John's favourite tracks of 2022 playlist
Elton John has created a playlist featuring his favourite songs of 2022 played on his Apple Music 1 show Rocket Hour, and Stormzy, Let's Eat Grandma and Oliver Sim have made the cut.
Elton John’s Rocket Hour Tracks of 2022 playlist is topped by Let's Eat Grandma's Two Ribbons song "Happy New Year", followed by tracks by The Linda Lindas, Weezer, Burna Boy and Jean Dawson. Stormzy's "Firebabe", Oliver Sim's "Run the Credits", Nova Twins' "Choose Your Fighter", as well as other songs by Daniel Caesar, Yard Act, Marcus Mumford and more also made the list.
Speaking about Stormzy's "Firebabe", John said, "I haven't had Stormzy as a guest, but I'm going to ask him to do one of the whole shows next year when he can choose the music. His album that just came out is called This is What I Mean. And for me, it's a masterpiece. And I rang him up and told him. This is the current single from the album called "Firebabe". Congratulations to him on such a brilliant record."
He added of his Apple Music 1 show Rocket Hour, "With the Rocket Hour we just try and give people exposure by playing and interviewing them. It's something I've been doing now for over six years. I haven't grown tired of it. I love it. The new music makes me feel fantastic. It inspires me. So I have to thank all the new artists, and all the old artists that we play on the show, because we don't just play new artists. But every week that I do the show is such a pleasure for me, so thank you."
