Stormzy delivers second This Is What I Mean single "Firebabe"
Stormzy has surprised fans with new single "Firebabe", marking the second taster of his upcoming third album This Is What I Mean.
The new single follows last month's lead outing "Hide & Seek", and is accompanied by a video directed by Edem Wornoo. The new song is produced by George Moore, and features additional production from PRGRSHN and tendai. The track also features additional vocals from Debbie, Sampha and Jacob Collier.
Stormzy says of the release, "Debbie, George [Moore] and I got in the studio together and it was the most beautiful moment. It was a session I'll never forget, for the rest of my life. It was extremely special and everyone in the room understood that. We were making something that hopefully, God willing, lives forever. Something that has soul and feeling and it came from a really pure place. We took a truth and made some art from it."
This Is What I Mean will follow Stormzy's 2019 album Heavy Is The Head.
Yesterday (9 November) Stormzy announced a headline show at All Points East 2023, and he'll also curate the line-up on the day
"Firebabe" is out now. Stormzy's This Is What I Mean album will arrive on 25 November via 0207 Def Jam, and is available to pre-order now.
