SPRINTS announce departure of guitarist Colm O’Reilly
Irish quartet SPRINTS have announced the immediate departure of their guitarist Colm O’Reilly, who is leaving the band in favour of a life away from the public eye.
In a statement posted on their socials, the band explained: "Life on the road can be tough — mentally, emotionally, and physically, and does not always allow us to pursue our ambitions and dreams in our personal lives. Colm has expressed a desire to retreat from public performance and full time touring to pursue his own passions and we fully support his decision."
They thanked O'Reilly for his half a decade spent in the band, and note that he is "an integral part of the SPRINTS family". The band recently released their debut album, Letter to Self, and will be extensively touring it across the US and UK. "SPRINTS will continue with Karla, Jack and Sam and we will be joined by guest guitarists across our live dates. All live commitments will be honoured and full of classic SPRINTS energy. We are excited to enter this new chapter and continue to grow," they add.
SPRINTS are yet to reveal who their guest guitarists will be.
