South Park co-creator Trey Parker revealed as director for Kendrick Lamar-produced comedy film
It's been revealed that Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free's upcoming live-action comedy film with South Park's creators will be directed by Trey Parker.
Back in January 2022 it was revealed that Lamar and Dave Free's pgLang company were producing a new live-action comedy for Paramount Pictures with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The untitled film will be written by Wonder Showzen-creator Vernon Chatman, and now it's been revealed by Above The Line that Trey Parker will be directing the film.
The feature film will "depict the past and present coming to a head when a young black man who is interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his."
It's still currently unclear when production will begin on the film, which was due to begin shooting last spring before South Park commitments held it up.
Kendrick Lamar has a busy summer coming up, and will appear at Primavera Sound, Roskilde, Outside Lands, Governors Ball and many more.
