London-based shoegaze label Sonic Cathedral will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a series of one-off shows featuring the likes of Slowdive and Ride, plus A Place To Bury Strangers, Whitelands, deary, bdrmm and more.

Slowdive headline a standing show at EartH Theatre on 4October with support from deary and Whitelands, two of the label’s latest generation of shoegaze bands. This will be one of the last chances to see Slowdive on the Everything is Alive tour before the end of 2024.

On 12 October, Ride will replay their set from Reading '92 as they top the bill at Hackney Church. Support comes from another of the Gen Z shoegazers, bdrmm, who will play their debut album Bedroom, which was released on Sonic Cathedral in 2020. Also on the bill are electronic polymath Pye Corner Audio and Moon Diagrams, the solo project of Moses Archuleta from Deerhunter, both of whom have released records on the label.

Prior to these, New York noiseniks A Place To Bury Strangers play Number 90 on 24 September, with Three Quarter Skies (the new band formed by Slowdive’s Simon Scott) and Cornish improv-noise trio Mildred Maude in support. Finally, there will be a special ‘Sunday Service’ featuring as yet unannounced very special guests at The Social – a longstanding home of Sonic Cathedral – on 13 October.

All four shows feature unique psychedelic visuals by Innerstrings and further details about DJs, special guests and other events taking place around them – as well as a series of special releases later this year – will be announced soon.

Tickets go on sale Friday 19 July at 10am here.
