SON Estrella Galicia announce two-day event, Soundhood with Gia Ford, Plantoid and more
SON Estrella Galicia have announced their biggest London event to date: Soundhood Hackney is a two day micro-festival taking place at Paper Dress Vintage on 13 June and Two Palms on 14 June.
Soundhood takes place in Hackney in June, Hackney with subsequent partnerships in Madrid, A Coruña, Barcelona later in 2024 and Berlin and Granada in 2025. Proceedings kick off on 13 June at BBE Record Store, followed by an event at Paper Dress Vintage. The evening sees DJ sets from Jawa Jones, Harry James, and Kyri R2, with live music from Sworn Virgins, Plantoid, and Gia Ford, followed by an after party at Two Palms Hackney, with a DJ set by Ed Von Balham.
The following day kicks off with a DJ set from Jeff Higgins along with a beer workshop at Paper Dress Vintage. Ditz, Cosmorat and Gallus take over the live music proceedings before the event closes with another DJ set Mondowski and Jeff Higgins.
It's a massive expansion on the events SON Estrella Galicia have been putting on, headliners include Sworn Virgins and DITZ with some other great acts in Gia Ford, Plantoid, Gallus and Cosmorat. The events will include concerts in venues, activations in record stores, new gastronomic partnerships, upcycling workshops, plastic collections on beaches and sporting activities in the same neighbourhood, all in a bid to support local and culture communities.
On the partnership,Victor Mantiñán, Head of Global Music Sponsorship at Estrella Galicia said: “We are very excited to celebrate our first Soundhood (in the world) in London. We wanted to take our micro festival concept a step further by bringing together different venues in a two-day programme of activities where there will of course be a lot of music on different stages, but also beer workshops and local street food proposals without giving up our commitment to positive impact. Soundhood London will feature not only the excellent bands that will take to the stages of Paper Dress Vintage and Two Palms but also Hackney's local artisans and allies that make this neighbourhood an example of non-conformism and avant-garde."
Tickets are available now for Paper Dress Vintage on 13 June, and Two Palms on 14 June.
