Slow Fiction unveil details of their forthcoming EP, Crush
Slow Fiction have announced their new EP Crush, alongside the release of the opening track “Monday".
Slow Fiction say their latest single "Monday" is “the moment just before the storm hits. Built up, frenetic energy that exists in your mind, with the knowledge that it can surely come spilling out at any point. Pretending to have internal peace gets exhausting after a while." The track follows on from previous release, "Apollo".
Speaking on the forthcoming EP, Crush they say, “A crowd of people pressed closely together. To squeeze forcefully so as to damage, or distort in shape. To violently subdue. To bring about an overwhelming feeling of disappointment. A brief but intense infatuation for someone, especially someone unattainable. “Crush” is an intimate snapshot of a life and a commentary on human nature as a whole. It represents the dual and cyclical nature of love and loss. To have, to hold, to break, to burn.”
Slow Fiction are set to perform in the UK at The Great Escape in May 2024 and will be performing multiple shows at this year’s edition of SXSW.
Crush is set for release on 28 May via So Young Records.
