Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland share rework of swing classic, "Ain't Misbehavin"
Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, with the help of his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, have shared a reworking of "Ain't Misbehavin'' as the second offering from their forthcoming album, Swing Fever.
The track is an interpretation of the early swing classic co-written by Fats Waller. As Holland explains, "Fats is another example of somebody who delivers a popular song, and you can't quite work out what he's done. It's treated so lightly, but it's so clever." This follows the album’s first release - a reworking of show tune "Almost Like Being In Love" which was written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, and made famous by Frank Sinatra & Nat King Cole.
Summing up the charm of Swing Fever, Holland adds: "The effect that this music has on me, and whenever I put it on where people are, they feel this thing, they want to move. Music is an expression of a lot of different things, and joy is an important part of what it does. You can feel the joy in this music, and it's unashamed joy as well."
Jools Holland and Sir Rod Stewart's interpretation of "Ain't Misbehaving" is out now. Swing Fever arrives on 23 February.
