serpentwithfeet contributes new song "The Hands" to soundtrack for A24 film The Inspection
serpentwithfeet has released new song "The Hands", which appears as a bonus track on Animal Collective's soundtrack for A24's The Inspection film.
Last Friday (18 November) Animal Collective released their score for the upcoming A24 film The Inspection, and today (22 November) a bonus track by serpentwithfeet, titled "The Hands", has been unveiled.
The new song is produced by Sensei Bueno, and features contributions from Animal Collective, as well as vocals from StemsMusic Choir.
The Inspection score also features contributions from Indigo de Souza, and marks Animal Collective's first project since their Time Skiffs album arrived in February.
Writer and director Elegance Bratton said of getting Animal Collective on board, "We were very inspired by the music of our composers Animal Collective. We wanted to create the right rhythms to blur the line between what French thinks is real and what is really happening. So those fantasy sequences could serve as the evolution of French’s inner life. In essence, we wanted to create a sense of the stir craziness of the monotony of boot camp, juxtaposed with the massive transformation Ellis French undergoes. Animal Collective provides the perfect backdrop to shrink and expand the time according to the emotion."
serpentwithfeet's "The Hands" song is out now alongside the full soundtrack. The Inspection will arrive in US cinemas on 2 December.
