Saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia returns with new single "Lean In"
Nubya Garcia returns with her first single of the year, in the form of "Lean In".
The new track is Garcia’s first solo release since 2021, following on from the remix album, SOURCE ⧺ WE MOVE – a nine-track remix album of her Mercury Prize-nominated debut solo album Source.
“Inspired by the sounds of garage that I grew up around, this track is about the combination of leaning in to the frenzy of life and going with the flow, letting the universe keep things moving, and trusting it’s all gonna bop along”, says Garcia.
"Lean In" closely follows Garcia’s joint live record with Khruangbin, Live at Radio City Music Hall, recorded at the iconic New York venue. The saxophonist also contributed to the critically acclaimed London Brew album; a celebration of Miles Davies Bitches Brew by the leading lights of London’s vibrant jazz scene.
