Sarah Kinsley announces debut album, Escaper
Sarah Kinsley has announced the release of her debut album, Escaper, alongside the album opener, “Last Time We Never Meet Again”.
Kinsley collaborated with, and co-produced, the album alongside Grammy-award winning producer John Congleton (Angel Olsen, St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten). The record heralds the first time Kinsley has collaborated in the studio with another producer, having self-produced her previous EP releases to date.
“One realization you have eventually as an insular, more introspective person is that there’s a world outside of yourself waiting for you to look into it. I had made every single EP from scratch, in the sweetness of my apartment… This record was meant to be grand and unstoppable. A beginning descent into freefall. Why protect that feeling in solitude? Why not invite another into that journey?” she details of working with Congleton.
Earlier this year, Kinsley opened for Mitski in the US, following support slots with the likes of Weyes Blood and Sylvan Esso. In support of her debut album, Kinsley and her band will embark on a headline tour across North America, the UK/Ireland and Europe, calling at London’s Heaven on 14 November alongside dates in Dublin, Bristol, Glasgow, and Manchester.
