Watch Samuel T. Herring in a forest Q&A for Best Fit's secret sessions at End of the Road
Ahead of Future Islands' set at End of the Road Festival back in September, their now legendary frontman Samuel T. Herring cosied up with Best Fit's Jen Long for a forest-side chat and audience Q&A.
Gearing up for the release of Future Islands new record People Who Aren't There Anymore – due in January – Herring talked in depth about the band's beginnings, working with London indie label Upset the Rhythm, their iconic and career-changing performance on Later... with Jools Holland, and how he became an Everton fan.
Herring joined the likes of Samia, Angel Olsen, Kara Jackson Caitlin Rose and The Anchoress who all performed for Best Fit's Secret Sessions during the festival. The sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exclusive covers, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As.
Past years in the secret sessions have seen performances from Lucy Dacus, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Kurt Vile, Moses Sumney, Alex Cameron, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper".
