Sam Fender announces The War on Drugs-produced album, People Watching
Sam Fender has returned with the announcement of his forthcoming third studio album, People Watching.
Sam Fender produced the album alongside bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson over two years, working firstly in London in 2023 with producer Markus Dravs, and then earlier this year in Los Angeles with The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.
People Watching follows Seventeen Going Under which was released in 2021, after the success of his 2019 debut album, Hypersonic Missiles.
The album cover photograph was shot by the renowned social documentary photographer Tish Murtha, who grew up in South Shields and documented marginalised communities and working-class life in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Sam Fender recently announced an arena tour taking place in December, marking his first UK run since Spring 2022. Sam Fender’s return to London at the O2 Arena will signal his first performance in the city since headlining Finsbury Park back in the Summer of 2022. £1 from every ticket sold for the UK dates will be donated to the Music Venue Trust in support of grassroots venues.
