Runnner has released a third preview of his debut album Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out, aptly titled "nye".
The 46-second "nye" song will appear on Runnner's debut album alongside previous outings "bike again" and "i only sing about food", and arrives ahead of New Year's Eve tomorrow (31 December).
Runnner, real name Noah Weinman, says of the track, "I didn’t actually write this song on NYE but pretty close to it. It was the last song I wrote for the record and I had been in such a deep recording mode I felt like i was neglecting so many other parts of my life. I was diving back into the record one more time and feeling like i should probably come up for air. I wanted it to be the moment on the record that really feels like it breaks the fourth wall. In the movie of the record this is where you cut to reveal me sitting alone in the studio, looking haggard. It’s just my voice and a bass and the little space heater in the background. I made the video around the same time to try and feel that way too."
Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out will follow last year's Always Repeating collection, and features 12 songs.
Runnner will play a sold out show as part of Best Fit's Five Day Forecast new music showcase at The Lexington on 18 January 2023. Tickets are still available for other Five Day Forecast shows via dice.fm.
"nye" is out now. Runnner's Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out album will be released on 17 February 2023 via Run For Cover Records, and is available to pre-order now.
