Romy gives update on debut solo album, says it’s "very close to being finished"
The xx's Romy has shared an update on her debut solo album, revealing that it's "very close to being finished".
Earlier today (17 January) Romy performed a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session, which included her November Fred again.. collaboration "Strong", and a mashup of Stormzy's "Firebabe" and Harry Styles' "As It Was".
As well as performing, Romy discussed her upcoming debut solo album, revealing that it's "very close to being finished."
Romy added that "it took a bit longer than I thought," and she was "glad we took our time."
On whether the album will arrive in 2023, Romy said, "I mean, yeah, I really hope so. That’s not in my control, but I’m really excited and it’s been really fun working with the people I’ve worked with on it. And I’m excited for people to hear it."
