Róisín Murphy signs to Ninja Tune and shares new single "CooCool"
Róisín Murphy has announced her signing to Ninja Tune, and has delivered new single "CooCool" to accompany the news, which is produced by DJ Koze.
"CooCool" is Murphy's first new release since her 2021 remix album Crooked Machine, although she did put out a limited edition white label 12" for a new DJ Koze collaboration titled "Can't Replicate" last month.
Murphy says of the new single, "Ostensibly a fragile little flower yet it has great hidden strength at the roots. There’s classic virtuosity and a lightness of touch, while DJ Koze’s hyper-modern production makes it bounce and glide. It’s a stupidly romantic little love poem. “This thing is way beyond any kind of parody”. Everything in this song is true and playful. Can we fall in love and retain our sense of humour? ‘Embrace your inner child!’ Timeless, ageless, unavoidable love."
Last year Róisín Murphy made her acting debut in Netflix's The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself series.
